A converted Barn offering self catering near Woolacombe on the North Devon Coast
Pickwell Court – a beautiful south facing converted barn just 800m (approx) from Putsborough beach on the north Devon coast sleeping 6/8 people, centrally heated and fully double glazed throughout.
Situated on a traditional working farm this beautifully spacious barn has been tastefully converted, a family home for the last sixteen years so lots of little extras. Before that it had been used to keep the bullocks warm in the winter.
It has a lovely south facing patio, courtyard and lawn garden, with picnic table and BBQ for you to enjoy those wonderful summer evenings listening to the sea, smelling the honeysuckle and roses that grow plentiful in the garden, while sipping your glass of wine and watching the family playing in the secure surroundings. It is surrounded to the south and west by trees, watch the squirrels in the mornings while listening to the owls hoot, drinking your early morning cuppa that your husband has brought you in bed! (Or may be your wife)!
Pickwell Court is entered by the south facing front door (up 2 patio steps) into the tiled hallway that is light and airy due to an open gallery landing upstairs with a roof window.

The family bedroom upstairs has a double bed and two singles with a small toilet and wash basin with limited head room, there are two roof windows and another that looks out to Baggy Point and Putsborough Beach making it a lovely spacious and light family bedroom. There is a cot and highchair for the youngest member of the family. |
Down stairs there are two more bedrooms; the master bedroom with its two windows dressed with swags and tails over looking the garden –a beautiful spacious room.
The second with twin beds, again over looking the garden. All the beds are made up for you on arrival so giving you time to enjoy a well earned cup of tea! |

There is a family bathroom tiled throughout with a shower head over the bath, all your towels (not for the beach) are provided. Shaver points in both the bathroom and shower room.
The spacious lounge with its patio doors and a window over looking the garden, with a sofa and chairs for 8 people, T.V (with freeview), video / DVD player, C/D player, open fire for those Autumnal / spring evenings (coal provided October –April).
From the lounge you enter the lovely country kitchen fully tiled through out.
The ceiling going up to the roof to a window and with two other windows over looking the garden and patio making it a very light and airy room with the sun pouring in most of the day. A table and chairs for all the family to enjoy their meals together.
It is fully equipped with everything one would need for a self catering holiday on the North Devon Coast near the seaside; fitted units throughout with electric hob and eye level oven with auto timer, dishwasher, toaster, craftiere, electric kettle, microwave, fridge/freezer and a range that runs the central heating (for the out of season guest only).
On from the kitchen there is a utility room with a sink, washing machine and tumble dryer. Another wash room with WC, sink and shower. With loads of space for you to store your surfboards, bikes, buckets and spades and another door by which you can enter the garden. There is an outside tap for washing the sand off all those surf boards buckets and spades!
Outside off the court there is an open barn for you to hang your wetsuits, from that leading onto the lawn garden with its mature flower and shrub beds with a back drop of trees all south facing so enjoy the suntrap with the lightness of breeze with your glass of pimms listening to the chorus of birds - just so idyllic and peaceful you'll feel you've found a gem and you will have!
Our water supply is natural spring water and the Court has its own filtration and treatment unit.
The Court is ideal for 2/8 persons. Sadly we are unable to accept Pets and it is non smoking.
Couples, families and friends are all very welcome at this cottage.
Come and enjoy the scenery, just 50m from the Court are some of the most magnificent views of the North Devon coast, our fields that go down to the South West Coast Path and on to the beach, you can roam free and ramble to Putsborough Beach (15 minute walk) watching the sunset over Lundy Island.
Also included for 2008 a 'Putsborough Sands' car park ticket!
